I was just listening to one of the stupid conversations of the CNN IBN "Public ka Kaptan-The Lagaan series.." Not only the name looks stupid, the discussion is even more stupid. never thought that kris srikanth is sooooo stupid….. Now the discussion was on Sehwag.. just because he had a poor run in couple of matches.. for heaven's sake why cant media people leave Cricketers to just enjoy their profession. At end of the day even they are human beings and not Robots. The Sachin's episode was pathetic.. Media starts comparing Sachin with Sourav.. how stupid this could be.. Sachin is legend and cant be compared with any one.. Sourav is not worth a place in a team.. i can justifiy it.. Firstly he is not in a proper frame of mind to be in team.. secondly he is a bane for teams fielding.. thirdly he doesnt set a good example for jurior players. He is not a all round batsmen. Every one knows whts souravs weakness. They have sorted him out.. On the other side Sachin is fine… even though he has a rough patch .. He is a back bone of the Team. He is a moral booster ,an ideal example for junior players. The problem with indian Media is that they over do things….. There was no need to sensationalize both sachin, saurav & greg chappell issue.. I think its high time for media to just drawline …..
Ya it was a weekend Dhamal with movie Malamaal.. As usual we 4 ie Sunil, Sharath, Sabarish and me went for a Malamaal a comedy movie.. its a usual paresh rawal.. who makes you laugh.. its was good comedy.. it had priyadarshans signature all over it… But the comedy in this movie is no where near the Hera Pheri…. Paresh rawal is at his best in Hera Pheri.. Malamaal is pretty good one..
After movie we went to Pizza Hut.. had nice Pizzas… N was havin a look at all electronic gadgets which sabarish had.. finally reached home by 11-30 night..
Now i need to meet my deadlines.. so time to sign off!
I had been to Oxford Technical Fest, Magnetics O6. It was typical Oxford fest with all royal arrangements. There was some real good events.. There was interesting sessions from Microsoft, Sun Microsystem. It was Gaurav Khanna from MS and some one called Vineet Mittal from Sun Microsystem took the sessions. As usual its always previlage to listen to Gaurav, But this Guy from Sun Microsystem was really arrogant, ridiculous and you can add n number of adjectives such as those to portray.. i never expected a guy from SUN would be so cheap.. He was talking all rubbish.. It was sad to see the guy from SUN himselves didnt knew how to make the comparisions between these two technologies.. He was comparing Java with .net.. (comparision b/w a Language and platform??). Secondly his remarks were just baseless. His session was punctuated with foolishness and arrogance….
I am not against any Technology let it be Java or .net or any other thing for that matter. But then when you are comparing.. you need to know whats there on the other side right? I dont see that happening with this guy.. He doesnt know any damn thing about the activities goin on .net platform and he still wanna comment on it. In his session he wanted all students to contribute to community.. when i asked him if there is any community in Bangalore , he defended saying “you start your own community!!!!..” I think he was just stupid…
i admire Java and its very close to my Heart. But at the same time i do love c# and .net. People like Vineet are just spoiling the name of the company which they work for, instead of doing some real good things. I think SUN should really take care on this.. because even in SUN TECH DAYS i have seen some real stupid people like Vineet handling the sessions, SUN should make sure that they have proper people to appear in evangelizing their Technology or else at the end of the day its the company which is in the soup.
There has been a big problem installing Oracle8i or higher on windows XP. It was a major problem when i started my project. i had used Oracle 8.0 some time back with windows98 but this problem wasnt there. This problem is kinda weird. Once the system is restarted after the installation it says “Oracle not available…” The problem is that the tablespace or database would not get mounted there might be some .ora files which would have got currupted. This is a big problem with oracle8i on windows XP.
The solution is as follows:-
1) go to command prompt, get into the installed drive. get into bin directory
2) Type the command to get into the Servermanager i.e “svrmgrl”
3) your prompt will now change to svrmgrl>
4) execute the command “connect internal”
5) you can see “Connected” popping on your command prompt
6)Then finally type “Startup”
7) This will mount the default tablespace or database for you.
close the command prompt and login through the start->oracle->application Development
->SQL Plus provide the user name and password, Now you should be able to get into the SQLServer to process your Queries.
